Will a tree surgeon revitalise your tree to its former glory?

Before you decide to dig up the roots it is a good idea to have at least a basic understanding of how to diagnose a tree and you will then know whether a qualified tree surgeon could restore it.

Therefore staff at treecontractorsdirectory.co.uk have drawn up a list of things to look for and once you've taken a look you will then know whether a professional tree surgeon could help.

If you are lucky enough to have fruit trees or an orchard in your garden then if the fruit doesn't grow it can be a sign that something is wrong. This is because trees usually flower and bear fruit once a year, so if the tree doesn't then it might be unhealthy. It could be a simple thing such as the PH levels in the soils or if the roots don't have sufficient nutrients around them. Dried out soil could also be a potential explanation, which could be solved easily by ensuring that you water it regularly. This is an important sign to look out for when looking at the health of your trees.

If the foliage around a tree starts to die off then this suggests that the soil is insufficient to meet the needs of the tree. In actual fact, this could be a sign that the tree isn't getting enough biological support from the soil. When a small plant is unable to survive properly then it won't be long before a tree also starts to wither away. If you see this happening to your tree then regular watering a fertiliser can help. Watch your tree for any signs of improvement and add more fertiliser if required.

Branches and bark that are flaking off can be caused by a selection of factors, some of them are insignificant but a few are quite important to be aware of. Dry branches may be caused by a heat wave with excessive sun and minimal rain. If this occurs, keep watering the tree on separate occasions throughout the day until the bark becomes smooth. Alternatively, the dryness may be caused by a nutritional deficiency, which means that you will have to monitor and maintain the ideal soil PH levels, perhaps even needing to add fertilizer. You should then monitor the tree's condition for several weeks and see whether you observe any improvement.

It is imperative that you act rapidly if you spot woodlice and ants flocking towards the branches because that is a sign of a dead tree. Choosing repellent is a suitable option but you will have to revitalise the trees as well. Even though ants and lice are not the most severe signs that can be seen as signs go, you should take heed; so it is a clever plan to chat to someone with more experience, such as a qualified tree surgeon. For example, tree contractors from www.treecontractorsdirectory.co.uk might be able to deal with the issue.

Animals rely on the habitat of a tree for support, so if the tree is looking sparse of wildlife that can suggest that there is an imbalance. You can tell this because if animals aren't finding a suitable habitat there then it isn't offering enough food or shelter, which could disturb the local ecosystem. Summer is particularly a good time to take notice of any changes as it is the time when animals have come out of hibernation and are more active. So if your tree is looking a little bare of animal life, it is time to investigate.

If you inspect your tree for the above criteria then you will have a better idea of whether a tree surgeon can restore your tree to its former glory or whether it needs to be removed.
